Gems birthday

me
Well almost, strange because it falls on a wednesday so we had a sort of celebration today.

Cant believe she is 15 on Wednesday. She has really blossomed in the last 6 months, her confidence has increased, she has 'glammed' up a lot and looks really beautiful.

Yesterday I was in Derby Crown Court, bit of a nightmare from start to finish. Couldnt wear my court shirt so had to wear a normal one, luckily the judge didnt say anything. My client was really difficult and wanted to give tyhe police officer a real hard time, normally I would enjoy this but he was on a hiding to nothing, I eventually convinced him that he should withdraw his appeal, which he did. I then cam home, I was soooo tired, went to bed about 12.00 and didnt wake up until 3.00 and even then only cus Katie woke me up. I am still so jet lagged. This morning I didnt wake up until 1:00, dont ever remember sleeping in that late.

Friday night we went to Birmingham for Gems birthday, it was a princess party, a make over that Kt and Karen, Gems mom were doding so I was kicked out after a while. It was great to see Gems friends though, and it was really sweet because I was going to leave before Gems friends got there so I didnt embarras her but she wanted to me stay. She obvioulsy wanted them to meet me which was lovely.

We didnt get home until 00:30 last night!

Today when I eventually got up me and Gem went into Town, I gave her some money for her birthday and she bought some stuff. Katie went to see her mom and dad. the we all went for a pub lunch, tonight we watched some movies (Mona lisas smile and RV vacation). We bought some food for gem and a little cake which we put 3 candles on which were the sort you cant blow out :-)

And again its past midnight and I'm up! I need to start catching up on my sleep.

Home? Again

Arrived back yesterday from a trip of a lifetime. Left final hotel about 9.30am Monday US time and got home about 15.00 UK time tuesday so about 24 hours travelling. Hence I am up at 3.00 this morning having gone to bed aout 7.00 last night.

Had a truly amazing time, drove 2000 miles starting in Atlanta GA and through Montgomery, Mobile, New Orleans, Natchez, Memphis, Franklin, Nashville, some place in the Smoky mountains (Franklin?) Stayed in 7 States - Georgia, Alabama, Mississippi, Louisiana, Tennessee, North Carolina and South Carolina

Saw so much and had some amazing experiences, went to our first baseball game on 4th July - Memphis Redbirds - was really enjoyable but very different from a soccer game which is all about the game and no distractions, stops every 5 minutes. Really enjoyed it though. Went to Gracelands which was good and Sun studio which as awesome, highight of my trip. Loved Beale Street Memphis. Was intrigued by New Orleans, was the sort of place I would have been drawn to 20 years ago. Liked the voodoo museum, thought Bourban Street was tacky and full of drunk kids much like Ibiza etc. Apart from that the less busy streets were amazing very interesting. Found it to be vibrant and had feared the worst after the hurricane but was a pretty upbeat place.

Didnt spend too long in Nashville, had done cities to death but went to the Grand Ole Opry which was an experience.

Some of the smaller towns I really enjoyed. I loved the Smoky Mountains and would love to spend a week there and really get out into them, maybe even overtook the Lake District as the most beautiful place I have ever seen.

Stayed in a lovely town on our last night, Clemson? In South Carolina. A real small town USA, couldnt get an alcoholic drink on the sunday! But a really lovely town and somewhere I could see us living.

Came home and decided we will definitely move to US in 3 years time, need to start looking into Visas etc. Spoke to Gems mom last night. They are moving away when Gem is 18 too and apparently Gem has said she is thinking of m,oving to US with us :-) that would make me soooooo happy.

I am more tired than I thought so going back to bed for a few hours got a lot to sort out today.

Busy busy busy

So work is going well, business thanks to my girl is exploding. She has been working so hard and it is starting to pay off now, she signed 2 new associates up yesterday, we have spoken to our mentor in USA who has told us how to get the skin care into the country. We have a potential meeting tomorrow, 2 others waiting to join through our upline, another joining up in 2 weeks and looking to sell to her clients. Awesome, it really is taking off.

Work work is ok. Been busy, had a trial yesterday. Today had a difficult sentencing. A woman with no previous convictions had stolen all the xmas hamper money from her workmates. Serious risk of custody, she wasnt mailicious just had no skills, she had got into money problems, 'borrowed' from the fund and then couldnt pay it back and it just got worse. In the end it all fell down around her ears. The fund she was collecting for was farepak which went bust owing millions, money 'borrowed' by other parts of the business - did the directors face criminal charges? No the company went bust, it was a limited company so they kept all their money! One rule for the rich another for the poor??

In other news, Manchester United have won the first leg of the european championship semi final. I dont normally like them but would be great if we had 2 English teams in the final, the other semi is Chelsea and Liverpool so there will be at least 1

Friends only

  • Apr. 17th, 2007 at 10:53 AM
what have I done?
I have decided to make all my entries friends only. I do not want people coming onto my journal telling me what I should and should not post.

If you want to be added leave a comment.

Its not that interesting really, stuff about work, my life, you might get business offers and you might get to read about my sex life with my beautiful 22 year old girlfriend but at least now people who dont want to hear about this sort of stuff dont have to.
